You have met with Christian and Laura,
Picked out a few colour preferences,
Had a town planning meeting, maybe,
And signed the contract.
What now? What’s next?
How do we get from documents to doorbells?
1. Before your first meeting
Make sure you have given Laura some direction as to your preference of colours. It helps her to prepare a selection just for you.
2. The exterior colour meeting
Laura will meet with you and present options of exterior colour schemes based on your preferences.
You choose the one you like, and suggest other options as they come up.
3. The Estimator re-estimates
If you chose some alterations to the original plan – an upgrade of materials perhaps – then the Estimator will price these variations accordingly, ready for your approval.
4. The interior colour meeting
About two weeks later, Laura will have come up with some colour choices for the interior of your house and meet with you again for your selection.
5. The Estimator readies the work force
Your Estimator will now finalise the orders and set dates for the contractors to start work.
6. The paperwork comes in
Once the Building Permit comes in, and you have signed the approval of any Variations, we can move on the most exciting part…
7. The site is set out. The build is underway!
Your official start date will be the day your site is measured and marked, and any existing responsibilities will be well outlined in your individual contract.
8. Stage updates
As the build continues, you will receive frequent updates from your site supervisor.
At various stages you will receive a Progress Claim – an official document to confirm stage completion.
9. You can inspect the site
We pride ourselves in our availability to you for enquiries, and should you ever want to visit the site during construction. One of our team will be on hand to take you around safely at these vital stages to inspect prior to progression of the next stage.
As your new home is nearing completion, you will have a final walk-through with your supervisor. We will also assist you with any legal and financial responsibilities and queries. Once these are done, the completion date is set, and welcome to your new home!
